Faith, Doubts & the Resurrection of Jesus

Made for Glory

We are nearing the end of our series in the book of John and I couldn’t be more excited about this week.

This week is all about faith and doubts.

Have you ever had a hard time believing something in the Bible? What about the resurrection? Is it hard for you to believe that Jesus rose from the dead? Did that literally happen? And, if Jesus rose from the dead, why do we still sin, have suffering and injustice in our world if Jesus “conquered sin and death?”

One of the things I love about the Bible is that the people you encounter in it are just like you and me. They have questions, are skeptical, have doubts and struggles with faith. It is never easy or clean, it is often messy and more of a crooked path instead of a straight line.

John 20 (which I’m preaching from this week) is a great example of that. In this chapter, we have the narrative of Jesus’ resurrection, how the most unlikely person discovered it first, how some believed immediately without a problem, how some took awhile and even doubted, and how some always stay skeptical.

Not only are we confronted with the reality of the resurrection, but we are also shown the difference it makes in our lives and death.

If you or someone you know struggles with doubt, or struggles to find freedom from sins and live in the power of the gospel, this is a great week to be at Revolution.

Don’t forget about some things happening and coming up at Revolution:

Remember, we meet at 10am on Sunday mornings at 8300 E Speedway Blvd.
