This Weekend @ Revolution || Light in the Dark Places

I am back to preaching.

I can’t tell you how excited I am about this fact. After being off for 6 weeks from preaching, it feels good. I planned to be away for 4 weeks, but God had different plans for me this summer.

I seriously cannot wait for Sunday to get here and I hope you feel the same way.

I will be preaching from John 8:12 – 30 and the hope that we have as humans. Hope means, what will make us feel whole, complete, useful, needed, having a purpose, or feeling good. We look for this in shopping, food, control, other people’s approval, getting married, staying single, having kids, not having kids, climbing the career ladder, staying put, having adventures, having a lot of toys and gadgets, going on trips.

Yet, all of those things fail to live up to the hype.

When Christians talk about finding hope in Jesus, many say “yes” but have no idea what that means. As we look at this passage, we will see how to find hope in specific areas of our lives and what it means for Jesus to be that hope.

We also started sign-ups for our missional communities this past Sunday. Our MC’s are smaller groups that meet around the city on different nights for the purpose of community and discipleship. We say this all the time, but if you don’t get plugged into an MC, the countdown for you sticking at Revolution begins to tick as this is where care, shepherding and growth happens best. And we would not anyone to miss out on those things.

I’ll see you this Sunday at 10am and be sure bring someone with you (you never know when a simple invite will make an eternal difference).

Remember, we meet at 8300 E. Speedway Blvd. at 10am.
