This is a fascinating video. It really shows why it is so important for the church to do all that it can to reach the world and get the gospel out, using any kind of method.
HT: Church Forward
Recently God has been teaching me a lot about transitions and this has been something I have been doing a lot of thinking about and God has been using the life of Joseph to bring it to the forefront.
At Revolution, we just added an elder board and we hired Paul. So now, 5 months into the life of our church my role has transitioned. I am now more hands off on certain areas of our church than I have ever been. This is scary and exciting all at the same time. I have incredible trust in the leaders God has brought our way, but it is hard to let go of those things. I have to remind myself not to check up on people, I have written e-mails that I deleted and made phone calls that I hung up on in an attempt to let leaders lead and let them do what they do.
At home, we are about to have our 3rd child, which will be a huge transition. We will now be playing zone defense and my role shifts a little bit as does Katie’s. What does the next season of life look like for me as a dad and husband.
These are all exciting and scary things.
Over the next month, I am going to be taking a spiritual retreat to do some alone time with God and specifically seeking out, what does the next stage of Revolution look like, what does my role look like, what do I and the other leaders need to do to get to the next level, what is the next growth engine that we need to be on the lookout for, what is God leading us into.
These are exciting days, Revolution, get ready for the ride of your life.
“‘Fear of God’…never means to the Jews that they ought to be afraid of God, but that, trembling, they ought to be aware of His incomprehensibility…It is the dark gate through which man must pass if he is to enter into the love of God. He who wishes to avoid passing through this gate, he who begins to provide for himself a comprehensible God, constructed thus and not otherwise, runs the risk of having to despair of God in view of the actualities of history and life, or of falling into inner falsehood. Only through the fear of God does man enter so deep into the love of God that he cannot again be cast out of it.” – Martin Buber
