Vacation – Day 5
Today was family day on vacation. We started off by going to the mall. It isn’t as big as the malls in Tucson, but that is okay, I know where everything is. Sadly, Starbucks has not invaded Lancaster as much as I would like.
I had lunch today with Brian Moore, who is the Jr. High Pastor & Greg Despres who is the Student Pastor at Calvary Church. I was on staff there for several years while I was in college. They have been good friends since 2000 when I started working with them. It was cool to hear about their plans as they move into a new student center at their church. I caught them up and ran them through the last 2 years of my life. You can read about it here.
This has been a week of reliving a lot of the past. When you go back to the place that you grew up in I guess it can be like that. But it has reminded me about what has happened in my life. I am able to be grateful for a lot of things as we are no longer in that situation, but as you remember, it was tough living through it.
Tonight, we had dinner with my grandmother, a few aunts & uncles, and Kevin & Jill. It was good being with my extended family. I have always like them. I know some families don’t like their families, but I have a good one. We cooked out and ate outside which is always a good time. I am still getting used to the humidity, I am not sure how I survived all that time while living here. I do miss the dry heat.
See the pics below of what we did today.
